EVENTS IN THE MIDDLE EAST

The so called fuel crisis seems to be pushing the political leaders of this world to the brink with events that are so fast that in the blink of an eye it’s happened and it seems to be nothing more than a flash in the pan. Or is the one true God who not only created everything and is the possessor thereof, working in the world to make events unroll to fulfil his plan and purpose?

“…the most high ruleth in the kingdom of men and giveth it to whomsoever he will.”

Daniel 4 v 17

The Western world seems intent on attacking Iran after the much embarrassing farce of Iraq. Let’s not be fooled into thinking that it was just the worry of chemical weapons, or the fear of losing control of the fuel found in Iraq. Don’t forget that the UK and the USA have signed up and invested in trade with Israel, Egypt and India to increase material wealth to help the shop front that is the west. One can only begin to imagine the size of this investment in an otherwise unstable area of the world and also how protective these powers are of this investment. Therefore it is no surprise that dictators are taken out of the picture to try and enable some form of stability. While power can rise against power in the world, removing individuals to keep to the intended agenda, man cannot control the natural world, such as twelve months ago when a tsunami hit from India to Indonesia.

“…ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars…for nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom…”

Matthew 24 vv 6-7

Let’s consider Iran. The media has portrayed its radical leader as being one who is intent on making Iran a nuclear power. Iran officially insists however, that it is for energy purposes only. Already Russia and China have supplied, by way of trade, the ability to achieve this. This point proves interesting as Russia depends upon the trade it has with Iran for fuel to help boost its own growing economy along with China - which boasts to be the fastest growing economy in the world. If Russia perceives a threat from the west to their investment, could they be forced to push south to protect it?

Could these events point towards Ezekiel 38 being fulfilled, which talks of the ‘King of the North’ coming to ‘take a spoil’ and pushing against the King of the South as Daniel 11 words it?

Interesting that while we were looking at events and things that could bring the people from other nations in to a Middle East conflict, as the month of January 2006 came to a close Hamas took a majority vote in Palestine. Hamas by many have been considered to be a terrorist organisation.

Looking at the events that have happened since the turn of the New Year, one can only ask the question; are these major turning points in Gods plan and purpose to make all creation give glory unto him who created all?
