STOP, LOOK AND
LISTEN
March 2005 article by Chris Butler
STOP
Please cast your minds back
a few years. We were taught how to cross
the road correctly – Stop, Look both ways and Listen for any traffic
approaching. I would like to apply these
three words to today’s day and age.
Have you ever stopped to
think why this world is like it is now – people rushing about everywhere,
wanting to get where they are going as soon, and as quickly as possible; no
time for anything or anyone, just pleasing themselves? Let’s take a brief look at the world around
us – earthquakes, terrors, epidemics, starvation, hatred for other people, not
marrying like they used to, just doing what people want to do, not really
interested in anybody else but themselves.
Does it make you
want to stop and look at where your life is going?
LOOK
First we need to look and
search to find that Book which most people have in their homes but never pick
up, and read God’s living word. We fill
find what God has to say about this world in which we live. It contains salvation for each and everyone
of us if we will only read God’s word and understand what God wants from us,
and follow His Son’s example, the Lord Jesus Christ, for He died for each of
us.
Let’s take a look at what
Peter tells us about the last days. Read
the second book of Peter, Chapter 3 verses 1-9.
Do you think we are living
in the last days? If you do, you must do
something about it now and find out more.
LISTEN
Firstly contact the Christadelphians
and go and listen at the many meeting rooms around the country and
worldwide. You will find a warm welcome
and people who will help you understand what God has to offer you through His
Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are living in a Godless
world and need to put our lives into God’s hands. Read John chapter 3 verses 14-21.
Please try and come to one
of our meetings. You will never regret
it and then you will learn to understand what is going on in the world
today. Time is short – the Lord Jesus Christ
will soon return to this world to set up His Kingdom.
